The Limbic System comprises certain fore brain centres, which are interconnected through neuronal circuits. These centres are responsible for the perception, consolidation and expression of various emoÂtional responses like pleasure, sadness, anger, hate, etc. In the present article, various components of the limbic system with detailed information about their structure and function and how they orchesÂtrate in an integrated way when a particular emotional response is expressed, have been discussed with suitable illustrations in the light of recent findings.
