Spinel based aluminates like compounds are found to have various applications as luminescent material, pigment, catalyst, electrodes and so on. Such compounds are observed to be synthesized by various processes like solid state method, sol-gel route, combustion, glycine, citrate methods, microwave assisted processing and others. The spinel compounds synthesized are noted to be identified by phase analysis, FTIR spectral analysis. In some cases, thermal studies of precursors are carried to obtain crystallization zone. Morphological analyses are carried by means of microscopic studies for compounds synthesized by different routes. Some important observations are discussed in brief for the spinel aluminates.Downloads
