Abstract
Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar was born in Lahore on 19th October 1910, a date which is easy to remember - 19/10/1910. His father C. Subrahmanya Iyer, popularly known as C.S. Iyer, was in Government service. Then Lahore was part of India and that was the reason of his father's posting there.
