The extinction of a large number of species within a relatively short period of geologic time known as mass extinction. The sixth mass extinction started and mediated by human beings. The extinction factors like habitat fragmentation, invasive alien species, pollution, overkill are also responsible for present biodiversity crisis. The current rate of species loss makes it clear that conservation initiatives cannot take care of all species that are threatened.Downloads
