Abstract

Bioelectromagnetism is the study of the effect of electricity and magnetism on all forms of life as well as the examination of the electrical, electromagnetic and magnetic phenomena arising in living tissues. Major three aspects of the theme are bioelectricity, bioelectromagnetism sensu stricto and biomagnetism. Plant bioelectromagnetism is a synthetic branch of orthodox plant physiology and ischolar_mains back to mid-nineteenth century. It deals with plant bioelectricity, differential electrical conductivity in plant body, plant biomagnetism, plant bioluminescence, fiber optic property of plants and emission of biophotons by plants. The subject has implications to classical study, production biology, environmental monitoring, remote sensing etc.
