Abstract

This article highlights some of the scientific aspects of the disease AIDS. U presents definition, clinical features, incubation period, biological and other characterising properties of HIV, mode of infection and mechanism of action of HIV, diagnostic tests, prospect of development of vaccine against AIDS and treatment. Some effective remedial measures for prevention and control of the disease have also been suggested and a concluding remark has been made
