Abstract

Continuous change in digital technology will always be the challenge for libraries. The digital technology and the perception that everything is available on the Internet have created new challenges to the traditional library professional ethics. With support from library users, staff and management, each library can move into better future. The purpose of this paper is to understand how and why libraries are changing and to help library professionals to meet the needs and expectations of library users. The article aims to explore the new challenges library professionals are facing in today’s highly competitive digital age and consider ways in which they need to reshape and rethink their services and skills to maintain their relevance and contribution.
