Abstract
This book which is a review of literature on "Frozen Blood", is a result of the Biological Communication Project (BSCP). BSCP conducted a survey of studies reported on various aspects of blood preservation for the U. S. Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and Office of Naval research, and the meterial contained in this work is based on the above survey. In the year 1949, it was discovered that glycerol protected erythrocytes against damage due to freezing and thawing. Since then, there had been significant developments in the processing and uses of frozen blood. Thus the book is valuable review of literature on frozen blood and blood preservation.Downloads
