Abstract
Food habits of people depend on availability of foods. Food availability is influenced by the climatic, socio-economic and cultural environment. Religious injunctions, superstition and ignorance affect the food habits significantly. Survey data in India indicate glaring deficits in the dietaries of vulnerable groups, food available to a household is dependent on the purchasing power and food available in the region.Downloads
