Situational Analysis of Female Athletes

Abstract
Fitness plays an important role in the overall performance of an athlete. Different sports require different levels of training sessions and a balanced diet to have an overall good fitness status. Over the past few decades research has clearly documented the beneficial effect of nutrition on exercise performance. Optimal physical performance of athletes depends on the nutritional strategies that maximize cellular levels of stored nutrients for ATP production. The hydrolysis of the terminal phosphate group of ATP ultimately provides the energy for the mechanical contraction of the skeletal muscles. Thus the performance of exercise depends on the reservoir of ATP which is an ever changing metabolic state of metabolic turnover.Downloads
