Effect of Improving the Maternal Nutritional Status with Reference to Zinc, Vitamin A and Iron on the Birthweight of the Newborn
Jump To References Section
Abstract
Birthweight is the single most important predictor of infant survival since both neonatal and post neonatal mortality increase exponentially with decreasing birthweight. The seed of death is sown in a majority of low birthweight (LBW) infants much before they are born and so many are more likely to die early and those who survive suffer illness, stunted growth and other health problems even as adults.Downloads
