Jump To References Section
Abstract
During the period of adolescence blood volume and muscle mass increase and this in turn is found to increase the need for haemoglobin formation. If the diet does not contain sufficient absorbabale iron and if the adolescent cannot consume adequate amount of food they become anaemic. Green Wood has stated that iron deficiency anaemia is undoubtedly one of the most serious public health problems related to nutrition during adolescence.Downloads
