Effect of Starches on Protein Digestibility
Jump To References Section
Abstract
The availability of nutrients may be Influenced by the interaction of one nutrient with another. Carbohydrates and proteins exist in close association both within the seed and the diet as well. The response of an animal to a particular protein has been shown to depend upon the corbohydrate in the meal. The vegetarian diets of the developing countries are the combinations of both cereals and pulses. The pulse also contains a good amount of starch. Thus it was considered important, in the present investigation to determine the pulse protein digestibility as affected by other dietary cereal starches and also with its own associated seed starch.Downloads
