Larval habits and mode of infestation of Poplar leaf webber, Meroctena tullalis Walker were studied in nursery condition from last week of May to third week of September. They were very much active, voracious feeder, nocturnal in habit and moderately rain loving insects. They were in habit of building shelter by webbing 2 or 3 leaves together to protect themselves from predators. Young larvae were found to feed along the leaf margin and mature larvae were seen to consume almost entire leaf.Downloads
