Use of different plants for medicinal purpose is very common among the tribal communities of various regions of West Bengal. Tribals depend on herbal medicines for curing various gynecological disorders. Tribal women do not approach physicians due to lack of awareness and shyness or hesitation. Present paper deals with some indigenous medicinal plants used for treatment of various gynecological disorders by tribal women of Birbhum district (Bolpur subdivision), West Bengal. These plants are enumerated with binomial names, family, vernacular names, parts used and ethno medicinal uses by different tribes. Further studies on chemical and pharmacological actions are suggested to validate the claims.Downloads
