Abstract

An avulsion is the most common of all dental injuries in a pediatric patient. Its prognosis depends on time management and a proper treatment plan. The most favoured treatment of choice after avulsion is reimplantation, but cannot always be carried out immediately. A case of reimplantation of maxillary central incisors which got accidentally avulsed in a 14-yearold boy is reported. The teeth were reimplanted back into the alveolar socket and splinting with 23 gauge stainless steel wire and composite was performed. Follow-up at 7 and 15 months of the interval was done. After 15 months of follow-up, no symptoms of pain or mobility of the teeth were seen. The reimplanted teeth were firm and there was no sign of infection, inflammation or resorption radiographically.
