Ethical Leadership and Virtuous Living: Insights from Viduranīti

The Vedic view of life is based on the idea that man is an integral part of the global family-”Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. This epithet is the hallmark of the cultural attitude and it holds relevance for the smooth survival of the Universe. This message of universal brotherhood, along with keeping alive the ethical measures of living, can be found in our ancient literature. Our ancient texts, especially Mahabharata , foster the idea of good governance, ethics ,discipline, behaviour ,cognitive learning and observation. These management techniques depicted in Mahabharata is a process of aligning people and are essential for an organized life. The novel concepts of being ethical, moral and socially responsible is discussed widely in Viduraniti. Strategy and leadership, team spirit,excellence in governance, are some of the techniques used in Viduraniti. This paper is a humble attempt to revisit the pedagogy of our ancient literature and the management of crucial situations in life.

Ecology and the Pañcamahāyajñas

In the human history the early society were very close to the enviornment for survival. All living organisms and their environment are mutually reactive and affecting each other in various ways. In the modern science ecology, one of the branches of biology deals with the various principles of enviornment. The eco system is a basic functional unit of ecology and it includes biotic and a biotic thinks which influencing each other. The ecological thoughts are deeply described in the ancient literature and scientific writings. Similarly ancient Indian literature also mentioned the ecological ideas and its importance. Among these the performance of Panchamaha Yajnas is more important for the existence of the world.

An Observation of Diagnosis of Elephant Diseases in Hastyāyurvada

Elephants are currently employed in Kerala for religious ceremonies, festivals, processions, transportation, and other events. Elephant Ayurveda, or Hastyāyurvada, is a vital resource for understanding our culture and customs. This work explains elephant illnesses and treatments. Elephants have been used for more than three millennia in many different contexts, from worship to warfare. Every significant Indian king's army was normally divided into four sections. Thus, the group was dubbed the "Chathuranga Sena," which translates to "four-armed army." The elephants, chariots, cavalry, and infantry made up the four "arms." Elephants, then, were an essential component of a conventional army and served presumably as tanks do in the current armed forces. In his Arthasasthra, Kautilya states that a king's primary means of winning battles is with elephants. They can perform things in combat with their massive bulk that pose a threat to the other military branches. They are capable of demolishing encampments, battle arrays, foot soldiers, and forts. These days, poor cleanliness, insufficient relaxation and sleep, and inadequate medical care and medicines are all contributing factors to the deaths of many elephants. This is the importance of studying elephant Ayurveda, or Hastyāyurvada, and this article is a humble attempt to possible answers to all these issues.
