Effect of Submerged Arc Process Variables on the Bead Geometry of Horizontal Fillet Welds
Jump To References Section
Abstract
Only flat and horizontal welding positions being practicable with Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), this part of the study deals with the development of the mathematical models for the weld bead geometry control of the horizontal fillet welds made by SAW process. A two-level full factorial design has been used to correlate the main and the interaction effects of open circuit voltage, wire feed rate and welding speed with leg length, throat thickness and bead width of the welds deposited under Direct Current Electrode Negative (DCEN) polarity on 10 mm thick C-fwIn steel specimens. The results have been explained graphically.
