Woman Power in Welding Skill Competitions

Abstract

Indian team got the Bronze Cup in the Arc Cup International Welding Competition held in China in June 2018, 2^nd time in a row after 2017. Miss Arati Prakash Patole of the Indian team got ‘Outstanding Female Welder’ prize in the competition. The Indian Institute of Welding conducts National level as well as branch level Skill Competitions in various categories. In 2017, Miss Arati won the National Final defeating her male counterparts. Inspiring from the achievement of Miss Arati, The Indian Institute of Welding has started organizing National Best Welder Competition for Women since 2018. In the National final of 2018 also, Miss Rasika Prakash Lokhande won in her category after defeating her male contenders. It is expected that more and more lady welders will come forward and will take part in the growth of the nation.
