Abstract
Malnutrition is one of the serious health problems in our country. The causes of malnutrition are, low socio economic status, ignorance, wrong beliefs and superstitions, harmful traditions and faulty practices, non-availability of food, improper selection of food and cooking practices, large family size and inequitable distribution of foods among the family members. Devadas' has pointed out that through nutrition education, families can overcome their prejudices and wrong beliefs which prevent consumption of nutritious foods and adoption of sound dietary habits.Downloads
