Nutritional Status of HIV Positive Children
Jump To References Section
Abstract
India is experiencing a rapid and extensive spread of HIV. Every year an increasing number of people are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. In 1986, official Government reports indicated that only six people were infected with HIV in India, whereas in 2007, UNAIDS and NACO agreed in a new estimate between 2 million and 3.6 million were living with HIV. As the pandemic of HIV infection and AIDS increases, the impact is intensified among children by increasing the number of infected children. Recent estimates from UNAIDS suggest that globally about 2.3 million children younger than 15 yrs of age have HIV.Downloads
