Abstract

The rise in cardiovascuiar diseases reflect a significant cliange in diet habits world wide as a result of industrialization and food market globalization. India will be at the throes of heart diseases in 20 years, if preventive measures are not taken. Hypertension and hypercholesterolemia are among the major and dominant risk factors in the development of cardiovascular diseases.
