Abstract
Cancer is a genetic disease, arising from an accumulation of mutations that promote clonal selection of cells with increasingly aggressive behaviour. An individual who carries a mutant allels of an inherited cancer gene has a variable risk of cancer that is influenced by the particular mutation, other cellular genes and dietary, lifestyle and environmental factors. However cancer is largely a preventable disease. There are several protective agents in our diet including fiber, vitamins, certain minerals and non-nutrients which protect our body from carcinogens.Downloads
