Abstract
Child bearing and nursing place mothers in a nutritionally vulnerable position. The period of pregnancy is marked by high accumulation of nutrients in the form of maternal and foetal tissue growth. During lactation there is a constant loss of nutrients in the breast milk, the essential composition of which does not change much with the imposition of nutritional stress.Downloads
