Effects of Seasonal and Nutritional Variations on the Quality and Quantity of Milk Produced by Zebu Cows in the Tropical Subtropical Region of India
Jump To References Section
Abstract
In an important statistical survey reported by Gacula, Gaunt and Damon, it has been emphasized that the causative factors for variation in milk composition are: herd 11 6 per cent, age 73 per cent, season V4 per cent and year r 6 per cent. Studies carried out in the climatic laboratories at Missouri have revealed that as temperature increased from 10°C to 38°C, milk yield fell steadily. Burt and Rook concluded that an increase in energy intake increased milk yield, SNF content and to a lesser extent, lactose content and decreased the fat content.Downloads
