Abstract
Target oriented Public Distribution System (PDS) of foodgrains are important policy measures used to supply foodgrains. Inorder to make foodgrains available to the weaker and vulnerable sections of the society at subsidized rates Government has setup a vast net work of fair price and ration shops where some essential commodities can be received on the production of ration cards. The PDS is an important measure to tackle the inflationary trends that is to keep prices under check, reduce price fluctuations, and ensure supply of essential commodities at reasonable rates particularly to the weaker sections of the society.Downloads
