Jump To References Section
Abstract
Women constitute 53 per cent of world's population. They put in nearly two thirds of human hours, receive one tenth of the world's income and own one hundredth of world's property. It was estimated that in India working women constitute about 12 per cent of total population and this trend is on the increase. Studies among the rural households in India on work pattern though few, indicate that rural women work longer hours than men and women put in the same number of hours but expend more total energy in the task they do. According to Satyaleela the women face dual stress and conflicting demands of work in and outside the home adverse effect on maternal and child health and nutritional status of children.Downloads
