Abstract

During the recent years, some rice based vegetable protein mixtures and diets using indigenous foods have been formulated in India, and reported to be having high nutritive value. However, most of them have not been tested for their adequacy throughout the life cycle. It is possible that a diet which is adequate for growth requirements may not be efficacious for reproductive and lactation performance.
