Abstract

The high incidence of protein malnutrition among young children in many developing countries like India, calls for effective steps to improve the protein content and quality of their diets'. Many feeding programmes are in operation under the auspices of the central and the state governments and voluntary agencies in India to improve the nutrient content of the diets of growing children.
