Abstract

"Insulin and Metabolism" is an excellent book dealing with the biosynthesis, the dynamics of the secretory process and degradation of insulin. A detailed discussion on diabetic neuropathy and microangiopathy is also included. There are separate chapters on insulin and atherosclerosis, management of diabetes mellitus and problems and perspectives of diabetes mellitus. Every chapter has pertinent illustrations and an exhaustive list of references. All aspects of diabetes mellitus are covered. It will be of great use to the students and research workers in the field of pathology, nutrition, clinical biochemistry, nursing and medicine.
