Abstract

Pulses form the main proteinous ingredient in an otherwise starchy diet of the masses in India. Masoor (Lens esculenta) is one of the important pulses grown in our country. Masoor chun (germ + fine brokens + husk) is available in large quantities as a by-product from pulse processing factories. Scientific information from the nutritional view point on masoor chuni is lacking. Therefore, it was considered desirable to investigate into the nutritive value of masoor chuni on male Barbari goats.
