Abstract
Plant foods play an important role in the diet as they provide essential micronutrients and minerals. Among the various parts of the plant, vegetable flowers play an important role with good nutrients and therapeutic values by acting as a stimulant, tonic, diuretic and cholagogue (an agent causing increased bile secretion). Drumstick flowers were used in treating cold and anaemia and reported to contain powerful antibiotic pterygospermin which has fungicidal properties. Plantain flowers help in increasing the progesterone hormone which reduces excessive bleeding and menstruation problems.Downloads
