Quadratic Jordan Algebras of Quadratic forms with Base Points

Abstract

This Paper originated in some experimentation with algebraic structures now known as special quadratic Jordan algebras which the first named author undertook more than ten years ago. The algebras we shall consider in this paper and the related Clifford algebras appeared in this investigation, the results of which have not been published before.
