About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Toxicology International is dedicated to publishing a wide range of scholarly works including full-length original research papers, research reviews, and short communications encompassing various aspects of toxicology. Manuscripts are evaluated based on their relevance to the journal's focus on the toxicology of xenobiotics (such as drugs, pesticides, and environmental contaminants) and their associated mitigation strategies. Our scope includes research both in vivo and in vitro, spanning descriptive and mechanistic studies that contribute to the risk assessment of toxic agent exposure.
Expanding our scope, we welcome articles that delve into the source, transport, fate, and effects of environmental contaminants on human health. This encompasses contaminants present in various mediums including air, water, sediments, and biota, exploring their behavior and impact on the environment. Furthermore, we encourage submissions that investigate the effects of contaminants on human and animal health, as well as other organisms.
Our journal also embraces research findings related to contaminant monitoring, occupational exposure, and toxicity testing of chemicals necessary for regulatory compliance. Toxicology International serves as a platform for the timely dissemination of scientific discoveries, fostering multidisciplinary approaches across fields such as pathophysiology, molecular mechanisms, biochemistry, environmental science, and all other branches of toxicology.
We remain committed to upholding the integrity and quality of scientific research while providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas within the toxicology community.
Toxicology International is a Double-Blind Peer Reviewed and Quarterly Journal. Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial plagiarism check using CrossCheck iThenticate. The published articles will be allocated a DOI (Digital object Identifier) Number. Articles in the below mentioned categories will be considered:
- Review Articles
- Short Review
- Research Articles
- Case Report
- Short Communication
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Toxicology International will undergo a Double Blind Peer Review process. This process ensures fairness and aims to enhance the quality of research submissions.
Here are the key aspects of our Double Blind Peer Review process:
- Anonymity: Authors remain anonymous to reviewers, and vice versa. This ensures impartial evaluation.
- Reviewer Selection: Each manuscript will be reviewed by two experts in the relevant subject area.
- Consideration of Review Reports: The decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript will be based on the review reports from both reviewers.
- Final Decision: The Editor-In-Chief (EIC) will make the final decision based on the reviewers' comments.
- Editorial Board Consultation: The EIC may seek input from one or more editorial board members before reaching a decision.
- Administrative Support: Associate editors and review editors provide administrative support to maintain the integrity of the peer review process.
- Revision Requirements: Authors are expected to address review comments and make necessary changes before their manuscript is considered for acceptance.
- No Canvassing: Any form of canvassing during the review process will result in rejection of the manuscript.
- Review Timeline: The review process, from assignment to a reviewer, typically takes around 45 working days.
- Publication Queue: Accepted articles will be queued for publication in the next available issue.
We remain committed to upholding the standards of integrity and quality in our peer review process, ensuring the dissemination of valuable scientific contributions in the field of toxicology of xenobiotics
