Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is an international disease affecting one to three per cent or the population. In addition to physical activity and exercise, diet is considered to be important in the control of diabetes. Maturity onset diabetes may be controlled by diet alone without the addition of insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents. Differences in blood glucose responses were observed with various legumes.
