Jump To References Section
Abstract
The diets consumed by the low-income groups of the population in India and several Asian countries, Africa and Latin America, consist predominantly of cereals, roots and tubers and contain negligible amounts of protective and protein-rich foods. Such diets are deficient in protein, certain vitamins and minerals. Consequently there is wide spread incidence of protein malnutrition and vitamin deficiency diseases particularly among children.Downloads
