Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2024

The May 2024, issue 5 contains four review articles, three short reviews, six research articles, four short communications and three case reports.

The review articles in this issue are about antidiabetic plants used by Garo community of Meghalaya, India; natural products with carbonic anhydrase inhibitory activity; potential of traditional herbal plants in the management of diabetes mellitus; and potential future perspectives of emulgels. The short reviews include, herbal nutraceuticals in the treatment of neurological disorders; quantitative determination of ellagic acid using different analytical methods; and plant based green nanotechnology.

There are research articles on UFLC-MS method for lupeol, quercetin and vasicine estimation in polyherbal formulations; identification of bioactive molecules in “Nilaavarai Choornam”; comparative analysis on antimicrobial efficacy of Eupatorium glandulosum and Eupatorium odoratum; conceptual study of Urdhvaga Amlapitta by Vasa Ghrita; assessment of antioxidant and analgesic activity of Urena lobata leaves; evaluation of antimicrobial, antioxidant, and cytotoxicity activities of Phyllanthus emblica bark.

The topics in short communications include, pharmacognostic evaluation of Cocos nucifera staminate flowers; in silico studies for tubulin inhibition; evaluation of Hibiscus sabdariffa aerial parts against ulcers; and enhancement of natural bioactive compounds through media optimization. Moreover, there are also two ayurvedic and one siddha based case report.
