The September 2024, issue 9 contains two review articles, five short reviews, ten research articles, two short communication and one case report. The review articles in this issue are about the South African medicinal plants as alternative therapies for erectile dysfunction and the effect of phytoconstituents of Ayurveda and Siddha herbs on COVID-19 management by modulating the human gut microbiome. The short reviews include the role of polyphenols and gut microbiota in human health, green synthesis of metallic nanoparticles by using plant extracts, role of natural polymers in novel drug delivery systems, role of natural products in combatting rheumatoid arthritis and pharmacological activities of Butea monosperma.

There are research articles on, pharmaceutical standardization and comparative study of Varunadi kvatha churna, an HPTLC method for detection of kaempferol, therapeutic study of leaf and bark extracts of Gymnacranthera farquhariana, PASS assisted prediction and meta-analysis of active phytoconstituents of Guggul, simultaneous HPTLC method for estimation of vitamin c, thymoquinone and thymol, evaluation of Saussurea lappa for alzheimer’s disease, formulation using the natural superdisintegrants, an HPTLC method for estimation of cubebin, a simultaneous RP-HPLC method for quantification of withanolides, and pharmacognostical analysis of Tephrosia barber. The short communications are about the antiulcer activity of Musa balbisiana fruits and anti-proliferative effect of Pyrus communis leaf. There is also a case report about honey.
